October has gone by so quickly! It arrived rapidly, on October 1st, which was National Seniors Day in Canada and coincided with the United Nations International Day of Older Adults. The purpose of this day is to take time to recognize and appreciate older adults’ contributions to society, their families, and communities. All of us need to ensure older people are treated with dignity, respect, security, and safety. If you have the chance, thank an older adult for their work in contributing to our beautiful world. Every small action taken by each person adds up to a lot accomplished by all of us together. The older people are, the more they have done and experienced in this world.

And the month ends with me sharing an exciting update. I ordered, received, and felt incredibly thankful for the first set of my new book, “The Crow Jacket: Navigating the Challenges of Dementia,” arriving. There are many people who helped make it the book it is, and I am thankful to each of them.

I have also had the pleasure to do a podcast with Dayne Steele, a legend from Houston, Texas, and a rock radio Hall of Famer. She is also an author, speaker, and stars in a comedy play titled “The Woman in the Mirror.” That was a lot of fun, and I was delighted to do it.

This podcast gave me the chance to share a little about my new book, “The Crow Jacket: Navigating the Challenges of Dementia.” I felt honored to talk about the book, why I wrote it, and to express gratitude for caregivers and those who care for older adults. Dayna wrote a book about how to survive Alzheimer’s after caring for her mom, who endured the disease. She has also authored several other books. It was wonderful to have such a fabulous conversation with her.

The wind of October will carry us into November. Just so you know, there are many ways to buy books, and remember, if you ever want to chat, I am just a call, email, or text away from anywhere in the world.

Here is a podcast for you to listen to on Spotify or YouTube.
